Dr. Gavin Johnson
MBBS Dipl Med Ed MSc(Hons) MD MRCP
Dr. Johnson is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at University College London Hospitals and a Senior Lecturer in Medical Education at UCL Medical School.
Dr. Johnson graduated from the University of Newcastle with Merit in 1998 and went on to complete postgraduate training in General Medicine and Gastroenterology in the North East, Sydney and London. As well as general gastroenterology and interventional endoscopy, Dr Johnson has a particular clinical interest in ERCP and pancreaticobiliary medicine.
Dr Johnson has worked as an Education Fellow at the Royal College of Physicians of London. He ran several nationwide education and training projects, culminating in a Diploma, Masters and Medical Doctorate in Medical Education. He continues to work as a consultant for the Royal College of Physicians and the GMC on education projects and has published numerous articles and book chapters.
As a Senior Lecturer at UCL Medical School Dr Johnson is currently leading a working party revamping the UCL Medical School curriculum, and is the lead for undergraduate Gastroenterology training at UCL. Dr. Johnson is the editor of OLGa On-line Learning in Gastroenterology) the world's biggest postgraduate training website, and a sub-editor of Frontline Gastroenterology.
