Dr. James Lindsay
MA PhD MRCP, consultant physician and gastroenterologist
James Lindsay is a consultant physician and gastroenterologist at St Barts and the London Hospital and a Senior Lecturer at Queen Mary School of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of London. His private clinic is at The Princess Grace Hospital where his main clinical expertise is in colonoscopy and the management of Inflammatory Bowel Disease. After training at Cambridge and Oxford universities, he received his PhD in novel treatments for Crohn's disease at Imperial College in 2002. His current responsibilities include being a principal investigator for basic sicence and clinical IBD research and Endoscopy training lead Barts and the London. He is one of the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme assessors for colonoscopy standards and is registered to perform screening colonoscopy. He is also on the faculty of the national endscopy training centre. He is Chairperson for the European Crohn’s disease guidelines (adolescent and paediatric section), and on the Faculty of the ECCO European workshops in Crohn’s disease management. Dr Lindsay has published extensively in leading international journals and is holder of a number of academic grants, mainly in the area of IBD.
