Dr. Peter Fairclough
MD FRCP
Dr Peter Fairclough MD FRCP was Consultant in Gastroenterology and General Internal Medicine Barts and the London NHS Trust until August 2008; he now works predominantly in private practice.
He trained at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and qualified in 1969. He was an MRC Travelling Research Fellow from 1976 to 1978, Wellcome Senior Clinical Lecturer from 1978 to 1982, Consultant Physician and Gastroenterologist both at Hackney and then Homerton Hospitals from 1982 to 1995, and at Barts and The London NHS Trust from 1978 to 2008. He has published more than fifty papers and numerous book chapters.
His interests are in all aspects of clinical gastroenterology, genetic GI family cancer syndromes and upper and lower diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy including colon cancer prevention. He is an accredited colonoscopist in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Programme.
