Dr. Peter Irving
MA MD MRCP
Dr Irving trained in Medicine at Cambridge University and The London Hospital Medical College, qualifying in 1995. His MD was on platelet-leucocyte interaction in Inflammatory Bowel Disease and was funded by the NACC. His clinical training in Gastroenterology was mainly at Barts and The London and University College Hospital, London. He then held an Advanced Fellowship in IBD at Monash University in Melbourne, Australia where he developed further research interests in IBD and was involved in pioneering research into a novel dietary treatment for IBS. He has published two books on IBD and has written numerous papers.
His practice includes all aspects of luminal gastroenterology with a particular interest in inflammatory bowel disease (Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis) and irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). His endoscopic interests include small bowel capsule endoscopy as well as gastroscopy and colonoscopy.
